Parables & Books Becomes a Reality
Hello and welcome to my first blog post! As publisher of Parables & Books, I am so proud of what we’ve already accomplished in such a short amount of time. A lot of people are curious about why I took on this endeavor, so I wish to share with you my story.
One evening, I was reading Green Eggs & Ham to my nephew and the inspiration to develop creative spiritual stories just came to me. It hit me that while our community has some spiritual literature, it doesn’t really have anything that is simultaneously creative and spiritual. I decided I should speak to the archbishop about it. After waiting what seemed a lifetime, I finally had the opportunity to speak to His Eminence about the importance of having such wonderful resources. His Eminence read over some documentation I had prepared and had agreed to embark on such a wonderful journey.
I immediately reached out to my clients who are authors and asked them how they published their books, etc. I tried to follow their advice but then I reached out to Dr. George Kiraz, owner of Gorgias Press and asked him to lead me on the right path to starting my own publishing company. With his and his wife Christine’s guidance, I was able to start turning my vision into a reality.
On October 29, 2010 Parables & Books was born.
